Bison Panel
We deal in Bison Panel, the cement bonded particle board by NCL Industries that most sites simply call ‘Bison board’.
Open Monday to Saturday
What Bison Panel is.
Cement and treated wood particles, pressed into a dense, flat grey board. On a drawing it is cement bonded particle board; on most sites it is just cement board, or Bison board.
Cement, worked like wood
It has the strength and durability of cement, but it can be cut and screwed like wood, so it goes up with the tools a site already has.
Made in India since 1992
NCL Industries has made Bison Panel in India since 1992, with technology from Bison-Werke, Germany.
No asbestos, no formaldehyde
NCL says the board contains no asbestos and no formaldehyde.
Why people choose it.
Cement particle board is bought for the jobs where wood-based boards struggle: fire, water, weather and termites.
Fire resistant
The cement in the board resists fire, which is why it is used in partitions and ceilings where fire safety matters.
Water, moisture and weather resistant
It holds up in wet areas and damp rooms, and outdoors under a suitable finish.
Termite, borer and fungus proof
Nothing in it for termites or borers to feed on, and nothing for fungus to take hold of.
Sound insulation
A dense board, so a partition built with it cuts down the sound passing between rooms.
Stays flat, doesn’t warp
It keeps its shape through the seasons, so walls, ceilings and floors stay true.
Conforms to IS 14276
Bison Panel conforms to IS 14276, the Indian standard for cement bonded particle boards, and is listed under IGBC and GRIHA.
Where it’s used.
From a site cabin to a finished facade.
Dry-wall partitions and site cabins
Fixed to a frame for internal walls, offices and site cabins that go up quickly.
False ceilings
Where the ceiling has to stand up to fire or damp.
Mezzanine and raised flooring
A firm, flat deck laid over a steel or timber frame.
Wall panelling
Inside, as a durable surface to paint or finish over.
Exterior cladding
Outside walls, with a suitable finish on the face.
Kitchen platforms and cabinet bases
Under the counter and at the foot of the cabinets, where water reaches first.
Roof overlays
Laid over a roof frame as the base for the covering above it.
Good to know before you buy.
Bison Panel is a good board for the right job. These are the things worth planning for.
-
It’s heavy
It’s much heavier than plywood, so plan for proper steel or treated-timber framing and more hands for lifting.
-
Cutting it
Cut it with a carbide-tipped blade, ideally outdoors, wearing a dust mask.
-
Fixing it
Use galvanised or stainless steel screws, and pre-drill near the edges.
-
Handling and storage
The edges can chip if a sheet is dropped. Store and stack sheets flat and dry.
-
Furniture is usually a different board
For furniture with a lot of hinges and edge-banding, most carpenters still choose plywood or HDHMR. Ask us which suits your job.

Still deciding between the wood-based boards?
Questions we get asked.
Is Bison board waterproof?
It's water and moisture resistant. In bathrooms you still need waterproofing behind tiles, and cut edges should be sealed.
Is it fireproof?
It's fire resistant, not fireproof. NCL tests it in fire-rated wall and ceiling systems; ask us for the details for your project.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. It's weather resistant and commonly used for exterior cladding with a suitable finish.
Do you cut to size?
No. We supply full sheets and don't offer custom cutting.
What sizes and thicknesses are there?
Send us a WhatsApp message and we'll share the sizes with today's rates.
Planning a partition, ceiling or cladding?
Tell us the job and the area on WhatsApp. Sizes, thicknesses and the rate come back the same day.
