What HDHMR is.
High Density High Moisture Resistant: an engineered board pressed from tightly compacted wood fibre. Denser than ordinary MDF, and made to survive the rooms that ruin ordinary board.
A denser core
Wood fibre compressed harder than regular MDF, so the board stays flat and the edges machine clean.
Made for damp rooms
Holds up far better than plain MDF or particle board where steam, splashes and humidity are part of daily use.
A face worth finishing
Smooth and even, so laminate sits flat on it and paint or duco goes on without grain telegraphing through.
Holds a screw
Hinges, channels and handles bite properly and stay put, which matters most on shutters that swing every day.
HDHMR is a brand, not a grade.
Plywood has grades — MR, BWR, BWP — that mean the same thing whoever pressed the sheet. HDHMR has never worked that way. It is a registered trademark of Balaji Action Buildwell, the company behind Action TESA. Any other board sold as HDHMR is borrowing the name, and the name may be all you are guaranteed to get.

A trademark, not a specification
On an Action TESA board the name identifies a manufacturer and a product. On an unbranded board it is a description anyone may print, and it commits nobody to anything.

You cannot see inside a pressed board
Action TESA presses its HDHMR from hardwood, on its own line, to properties it publishes and stands behind: high density, moisture resistance, borer resistance and termite resistance. A lookalike can match the colour and the edge and still behave nothing like it in a wet kitchen.

Fifteen years, in writing
Genuine Action TESA HDHMR carries the company’s own 15-year written warranty. An unmarked board carries the seller’s word and nothing else.

Ask for the marking and the invoice
Genuine board is branded on the face and billed as Action TESA on a GST invoice. We are authorised dealers, so both come as standard. Ask us for them — and ask anyone else you are comparing us against.
