Cut, not pressed.
An embossed door gets its pattern from a die under heat. These get theirs from a cutter following a drawing — straight grooves, arcs and inlay lines, in a flat face rather than a moulded one.
A flatter, plainer face
No raised panels. A line or a groove breaking up a plain leaf, which is what most modern interiors are asking for.
Every door identical
The machine repeats the same drawing on every leaf, so twelve doors on a floor match each other exactly.
Inlay lines in the groove
Several designs carry a fine light-coloured inlay set into the cut, which is what gives them their look against a dark foil.
PVC or WPC
The same grooved designs are made on a PVC leaf or a WPC one. Tell us the room and we’ll say which suits it better.
The cutting happens at the factory
These arrive finished. The grooves are CNC cut at Z-on’s works — we don’t cut, size or profile at the store, and we’ll say so plainly rather than waste your time. See how the leaf is built.
Standard door sizes
Made in widths from 25 to 33 inches and heights from 75 to 89 inches, so most standard doorways are covered. Measure yours and send it with the design.
Grooving or moulded?
The two ranges cost about the same and last about the same. What separates them is the look, and which rooms they suit.

For a modern, flat interior: grooving
Straight lines and grooves sit better next to plain laminate wardrobes and flat wall panelling than a moulded panel does.

For a traditional room: moulded
If the rest of the house has panelled woodwork, an moulded design matches it and a flat grooved leaf will look out of place.

For a doorway that gets scrubbed: either
Both wipe clean. A deep emboss holds a little more dust in the pattern than a shallow groove does, which matters in a kitchen passage.

For matching a set of doors: grooving
When a whole floor has to look like one set, the repeatability of a cut pattern is the safer choice.
